Classical interpretations

If a person sees himself wear something in a dream, it signifies the dreamer's work and condition. For it is said in a noble hadith: "Fear Allah concerning these secrets. When a person conceals a secret, Allah clothes that person in its cloak. If the secret he keeps is good, its reward is good; if it is evil, its punishment is evil."

Seeing oneself wear white clothing is interpreted as awe, dignity, and pride.

Wearing silk clothing signifies honor, eminence, and rank. If silk clothing is seen on a dead person, that clothing signifies the silk of Paradise.

Seeing clothing embroidered with gold is a sign of overcoming an enemy. If a person sees himself wear buttoned clothing, it signifies hardship, or gathering things that were scattered by being lost, or, if unmarried, marriage.

Seeing oneself wrap one's turban around one's foot or wear one's shoe on one's head signifies calamity and affliction. Black clothing is a sign of grandeur and eminence.

Wearing green clothing signifies the rank of martyrdom. Clothing made of cotton is a sign of the Sunnah.

Seeing woolen clothing is interpreted as contentment. But if the woolen clothing is harsh, coarse, and does not suit the one who wears it, then this dream signifies poverty and humiliation.

Seeing oneself wear a robe is a sign of a long and happy life.

Wearing a slit garment signifies release from sorrow, grief, and distress. Adorned clothing signifies accumulated wealth, capital, or a modest and beautiful woman. Allah Most High knows best the finest of everything. I praise Him and ask His help...
