Splitting

Splitting something signifies separation, estrangement, and longing. It also signifies deception. Striking and splitting a large stone signifies investigating the condition of a governor or another high-ranking state official. Boring through fortified and strongly defended places such as a castle and entering them signifies seeking unmarried girls who have not yet married or gathering news about a country. Boring into a house and entering it signifies attaining the woman one desires.

Seeing oneself cut in two at the waist, or someone else come to that state, is not interpreted as good. Again, seeing oneself cut in two at the waist, thrown into the sea, and floating on the waters signifies being reported to the government and being acquitted of it.

Seeing oneself cut in two at the waist and hung up somewhere, however, is a sign of fame.
