Seeing oneself eat from a vessel signifies contentment. If the vessel is made of gold or silver, however, it signifies unlawful wealth and heavy debt.

Eating among people signifies fame and being known by a good name.

Eating with the right hand signifies following the noble Sunnah, while eating with the left hand signifies obeying an enemy and treating a friend harshly.

Seeing oneself eat by another person's hand signifies being honorable and content, and relying upon and putting one's trust in Allah. At times this dream is also interpreted as illness, because a sick person may be unable to eat and must eat with another's help.

Eating one's own flesh signifies consuming the wealth one has accumulated.

Eating white mushrooms signifies commanding what is right, forbidding what is wrong, acting with moderation rather than haste, long life, and, for a sick person, health and recovery. Daniel (peace be upon him) said that seeing and eating cooked meat signifies goodness and benefit obtained with ease, while seeing and eating roasted meat signifies provision obtained through hardship. Kirmani said that seeing cooked meat in a pot and eating from it signifies provision and blessing; cooking meat as a roast signifies unlawful wealth.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing meat is interpreted in four ways: wealth, inheritance, sorrow, and calamity. Snake meat signifies wealth obtained from an enemy; horse meat, honor and high rank; mule meat, illness and affliction; and beef, bodily health.

Eating the pre-dawn meal or the meal of breaking the fast signifies good and blessed provision, forgiveness of sins, a good outcome, and righteousness in religion.
