Classical interpretations

Everyone knows well that gold is the ornament of the world. And the world is a place of hardship for believers. For this reason, seeing gold in a dream is a sign of debt, sorrow, and grief.

Seeing oneself put on a gold bracelet signifies an inheritance that will come into the dreamer's hands.

Seeing oneself come across a gold ingot is a sign of wealth that will slip out of one's hands. Again, seeing oneself make gold into an ingot is interpreted as evil and ruin.

Seeing oneself given a large piece of gold signifies attaining high degrees in affairs of state.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said: Seeing a gold bracelet in a dream is interpreted in five ways: a) leadership (being at the head, chieftainship), b) wisdom, c) sin and deceit, d) sorrow and grief, e) children and a brother...

Ibn Sirin said: Seeing five gold coins in one's hand signifies deeds that will be accepted among the people.

Seeing a single gold coin in one's hand is interpreted as a fine house.

Seeing both of one's hands turned to gold is a sign of falling into difficulty in one's work.

Seeing precious garments such as headscarves and crowns, and similar things, woven or braided with gold thread signifies the nearness to Allah Most High of those who wear these garments. Again, seeing something made of pure gold and silver signifies sincerity, pure intention, agreement, and truthful speech.

Seeing one's eyes made of gold is a sign of going blind.

Seeing oneself wearing a necklace of gold, silver, beads, or jewels signifies rising to a high office in the service of the state.
