Fragrant Plants

Seeing or smelling fragrant plants signifies relief from grief and hardship, good deeds, and truthfulness. For an unmarried person they may signify marriage, and for a married person a child, knowledge bringing fame, or praise.

Ibn Sirin says fragrant plants gathered together may signify grief, while white and green ones signify wealth, blessing, children, marriage, goodness, and benefit. Water together with greenery signifies relief. A fragrant plant rising to the sky may signify the death of a scholar, and plants cut down and trampled grief. A deceased person giving something fragrant signifies a blessed state in the hereafter. Fragrant plants in the home signify praise, and bundled fragrant herbs may symbolize a spouse.
