Water together with greenery signifies relief. A fragrant plant rising to the sky may signify the death of a scholar, and plants cut down and trampled grief. A deceased person giving something fragrant signifies a blessed state in the hereafter. Fragrant plants in the home signify praise, and bundled fragrant herbs may symbolize a spouse.
