Transformation

Classical interpretations

Seeing beings and bodies pass from their known state into another state in a dream, for example seeing a fruit-bearing tree turn into a dry tree or a dry tree turn into a fruit-bearing tree, signifies a change in the state of those who hold rank. Again, these changes, that is, the states of change the dreamer sees, are a sign of the world turning from good to evil or from evil to good. The change of human limbs and of people's forms is likewise. For example, if an old man sees himself become a child in a dream, it is not interpreted as good. For a child does not know what he is doing. If a person sees himself past the age of forty with his hair and beard turned white, when he is not actually so, it signifies righteousness in his religion and an increase in his dignity and honor. If a young woman sees herself become old in a dream, it is a sign of the goodness and beauty of her religion and her world.

Seeing one's neck lengthen in a dream signifies a long life.

Seeing oneself become short while being tall is a sign that the blessing or wealth one has will go. Sometimes this dream also signifies one's appointed time. A man seeing himself in the form and adornment of a woman is interpreted as abasement, calamity, and contempt.

Seeing an old woman as young in a dream is a sign of wealth.

Seeing oneself turn into a bird in a dream is a sign of travelling the earth without rest.

Seeing one's body made of things such as a jug, a cup, or an oven made of clay is interpreted as a long life.

Seeing oneself become a spider in a dream is a sign of worshipping Allah and repenting of sins. Again, seeing a child who is with one become a bird signifies that that child will die and join the birds in Paradise.
