Well

Seeing a well in a dream signifies trickery and deceiving people.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing a well is interpreted in five ways: marriage, a scholar, a great and generous person, death, and deceit or trickery. Sometimes a well signifies a woman, while its water signifies the woman's wealth.

Drinking water from a well signifies benefiting from one's wife's wealth.

Seeing the water of the well overflow signifies the wife's righteousness and the loss of her wealth.

Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz said that for a man, seeing a well signifies wealth and a good wife, while for a woman it signifies a husband of good character. The water of the well is likewise interpreted as wealth. Falling to the bottom of a well signifies death, because a grave is like a well for the dead. Descending into a well and being unable to see the sky from it signifies that one's possessions will be stolen by a thief. If a traveler sees this dream, it signifies that his journey will be cut off. Sometimes falling into a well and finding no one to pull one out signifies the grave. Kirmani said that drinking well water signifies illness, while descending into a well signifies imprisonment. Coming out of the well signifies, by God's permission, attaining relief and joy and being freed from prison.

Seeing the Well of Zamzam in a place signifies that a person of goodness and righteousness will come to that place.

Drinking from the Well of Zamzam or performing ablution with its water signifies goodness, blessing, and pilgrimage to Mecca.
