Performing Hajj

Classical interpretations

The worship of the pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam. For this reason, seeing oneself perform the pilgrimage within the measures of the Sharia, circumambulate the Kaaba, and fulfil the obligation of the pilgrimage signifies beauty and uprightness in religion, great reward, being safe from fear, deliverance from debt, and trusts that will be given to Muslims. His holiness Ja'far al-Sadiq said: Seeing the Kaaba in a dream is interpreted in five ways: a) security, b) safety, c) a just head of state, d) comfort and peace, e) the pilgrimage... Whoever enters the Kaaba is safe from all fears, for it is the land of security. If a student sees himself perform the pilgrimage in a dream, it is a sign that his wish will be fulfilled. An unmarried person seeing himself perform the pilgrimage is interpreted as marrying. If a person who has been dismissed from his work sees himself set out at the time of the pilgrimage to go on the pilgrimage, this dream signifies that he will return to his work.

Seeing oneself perform the pilgrimage in a dream signifies healing for the sick, release from debt for the debtor, and attaining one's wish for the student. If an erring man sees a dream of the pilgrimage, it is a sign that he will find guidance and that his Lord will grant him His forgiveness.

Seeing oneself go on the pilgrimage on foot signifies an oath for which one will pay expiation. Sometimes this dream is also interpreted as provision and spoils. If a king, that is, a head of state, sees himself perform the pilgrimage, it signifies being protected from the enemy, routing the rebellious and the erring, and conquering one of the lands of the unbelievers.
