Al-Nabulsi said: If a person sees the nape of the neck in a dream, it signifies things said behind a man's back, such as disparagement, advancing, falling back, honor, abasement, or debt. Sometimes the nape is also a sign that someone will look into a man's traces.

Seeing the nape of one's neck thick signifies that person's patience and endurance in what Allah Almighty has decreed for him.

Seeing oneself shave the hair on the nape of one's neck is a sign of handing over a trust one holds to its place and paying one's debt.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said: Seeing one's neck and nape long in a dream is interpreted in four ways: a) the outcome of a matter, b) justice, c) guardianship, d) the call to prayer... If a person sees the nape of his neck thick, white, sweet-smelling, clear, and shining, made of light, it is a sign that something signifying good will come to light. His holiness Ibn Sirin said: Seeing the neck and nape in a dream signifies a person's loyal friend, trustworthy companion, and paid servant.

Seeing oneself mount the nape of an enemy's neck signifies crushing him, prevailing over the enemy, and power and strength.

Seeing oneself bend one's nape down, or seeing something such as a wound or a boil on the nape, signifies meeting contempt, sorrow, and grief. The beauty and thickness of the nape are a sign of a person's strength and of the goodness of his livelihood.

Seeing on one's nape in a dream something that is disliked or considered shameful when awake is not good.

Seeing oneself squeeze someone's throat or someone squeeze one's own throat signifies hardship, want, difficulties, and sorrow.

Seeing one's neck short, as if sunk between the shoulders, is a sign that one's affairs will turn out well. If a person sees his neck beautiful, shining, and straight in a dream, it signifies that he acts with justice in his deeds and affairs.
