Military campaign and jihad
Classical interpretations
Ja'far al-Sadiq said: Campaign and jihad in a dream are interpreted in seven ways: a) goodness, b) benefit, c) reviving the Sunna, d) victory over the enemy, e) well-being and healing for the sick, f) a just ruler, g) spoils. His holiness Ibn Sirin said: For whoever sees himself wage jihad in the way of Allah in his dream, both his own state and that of his family will become upright, his provision will broaden, and his riches will increase.
Seeing oneself turn away from campaign and jihad signifies little compassion and mercy toward one's wife, children, and household. If a person sees himself fight the unbelievers alone in a dream, it signifies crushing the enemy, spoils, lawful provision, and renown and honor.
Seeing oneself go on campaign and win victory over the unbelievers is a sign of wealth and spoils to be obtained from the enemy.
