Caliph

Seeing one of the caliphs cheerful in a dream signifies good and blessing in this world and the hereafter, and honor and distinction.

Seeing one of the caliphs command one to do a lawful thing is a sign that one's honor and worth will be lofty and one's name renowned. That person will receive every good in this world and the hereafter. Al-Nabulsi said: If a person sees a caliph as befits him, or sees himself become caliph, it signifies the beauty of his state and that his end will be good.

Seeing a caliph signifies a person who carries out the rulings of the sacred law of the Prophet of prophets in matters of religion. For this reason, any deficiency or excess seen in the caliph pertains to the work he carries out.

Seeing oneself appointed by Allah Most High as caliph on earth signifies, if the dreamer is worthy, that he will be raised to the office of governor. If he is not worthy, it is a sign of strife that will break out in that place. Sometimes seeing a caliph signifies following the noble Sunnah, religion and piety, withdrawing from people into retreat, truthfulness in word and deed, voluntary worship, remembrance of Allah and repentance, and inner purity through complete cleansing from sin. If a person sees himself become caliph, it signifies, if he is worthy, attaining dominion; if he is fit to judge, becoming a judge, or becoming an imam or governor. If he is not fit for the matters listed above, the person who sees this dream will fall ill or travel to a distant place. It has been said: Seeing oneself become caliph or imam signifies honor and distinction. If he is fit for the caliphate, he will attain leadership.

Seeing oneself turn into a caliph is not good in any respect. Unless he is worthy of the caliphate, in which case this does not apply.

Seeing oneself kill the caliph is a sign of pursuing a great matter and succeeding in it. If a person sees the caliph die, or sees his adornment and finery change, it is a sign of a deficiency in what the caliph signifies.
