Classical interpretations
If a man sees domes in a dream, it signifies that he will befriend people of high standing and worth.
Seeing a newly built building is interpreted as provision and blessing that will come from an unexpected place. If a person sees himself begin a building, lay its foundation, and build it strongly, it signifies knowledge, authority, and craft.
Ibn Sirin said: Seeing an old building become new signifies an increase in provision, the opening of the doors of good, and the attainment of happiness and relief. Daniel (peace be upon him) said: Seeing oneself enter an unknown building and see dead people there is a sign of the abode of the hereafter. The appointed time of whoever sees himself enter there and sit down is near.
Ibn Sirin said: Seeing the ceiling, roof, or wall of a house collapse or burn signifies a calamity occurring in one's own house; seeing one's house grow larger signifies abundant and blessed bounty.
Ja'far al-Sadiq said: Seeing a building is interpreted in eight ways: a) a wife, b) a husband, c) wealth, d) safety and security, e) an easy livelihood, f) property, g) a high office, h) ample livelihood...
Seeing one's house enlarged beautifully by a certain amount is a sign of the ease of one's state in this world.
Seeing oneself constructing a building signifies the breadth of one's relief and joy and the increase of one's strength.
Seeing a beautiful and lofty building signifies harmony and affection, provision, cheerfulness, fine clothes, marrying a maiden, and the child to be born of her.
Seeing a sound and beautiful building sometimes also signifies long life and strength. If a person sees himself plaster with mud the blessed tomb of the Prophet of prophets, it is a sign of going on the pilgrimage with his own wealth.
Seeing oneself plaster one's own house with mud while the mud is wet signifies becoming a righteous person.
Seeing oneself eat the mud is a sign of consuming wealth in that amount. Al-Nabulsi said: "Seeing oneself have a mosque or some other place built in order to draw near to Allah Most High: if the one who sees it is a head of state, he will be joined with the truth. He will command people to do good and keep them from evil. If a scholar sees this dream, he will write a book, and people will benefit from his knowledge or his legal opinions. If he is rich, he will pay the zakat on his wealth; if he is unmarried, he will marry; and if he is married, a child of good repute will be born to him. If he is poor, he will become rich. If none of these apply, he will serve that place and make it flourish with the remembrance of Allah." Whoever sees himself put up a building in a foreign land will marry a woman who never entered his mind or imagination. Or he will settle abroad and die there too. Building with wet mud is a sign of religion and belief, and building with dry mud a sign of hardship in terms of wealth. Kirmani said: Seeing oneself enter a building that is one's own property signifies a wife and children. The house being spacious and new is a sign of abundant provision.
Seeing a beautiful building is also a sign of the health and safety of one's parents.
Seeing the courtyard in the middle of the house signifies a daughter or a sister, and the hall of the house signifies the father and mother.
Seeing them beautiful, clean, and well kept is a sign of their good and safety.
Seeing them ruined and dirty signifies exactly the opposite...
Seeing that one's own house does not resemble other houses signifies wealth to a degree that everyone will envy; seeing oneself build a house for oneself signifies benefiting from the world. If a sick person sees this dream, it is a sign of his death.
Seeing oneself tear down the house of the Great Imam is a sign of corruption and strife arising in the world of Islam.
Seeing the mansion of a head of state who rules with justice is interpreted as one of the cities of Islam.
Seeing that mansion collapse signifies harm and disaster befalling one of the cities of the Muslims.
Seeing a house from far away is a sign that one will reach the happiness one sees in the distance.
