Afsun / incantation

Classical interpretations

Afsun (prayer / incantation)

Seeing oneself recite some verses from the Qur'an over a sick person signifies deliverance from severe pain and illnesses and relief from grief and sorrow.

Reciting something outside the Sunnah and the Qur'an signifies lying and hypocrisy.

If the dreamer is a scholar, it is interpreted as withholding counsel and advice from the people.

Seeing oneself drink water over which a Qur'anic verse has been recited, or give such water in a cup to another person, signifies long life.

Seeing oneself perform an afsun or have one performed upon oneself signifies false or invalid things. If what is done begins with the Basmala or with any verse from the Qur'an, it is a good sign.

Afsun reciter (prayer / incantation reciter)

Seeing a person who recites an afsun (prayer or incantation) in a dream, if they mention Allah Most High in what they recite, signifies a person who reconciles people, consoles them in grief and sorrow, and removes resentment from hearts.
