Classical interpretations

Seeing ruins is interpreted as admonition and counsel. Ruins may also signify years, numbered days, or reunion with people who had migrated away from the town. Commanding good and forbidding evil signifies restoration of the ruins.

Entering ruins and writing or reading a book there signifies becoming a person of knowledge and wisdom.

Seeing a deserted ruin with no one there signifies grief.

Seeing a mosque utterly ruined signifies a change of local ruler and that the new ruler will not act justly.
