Classical interpretations
Seeing a shirt in a dream signifies one's religion or livelihood, or one's fear of Allah Most High and one's knowledge. For in the Qur'an it is related from Joseph (peace be upon him): "Take this shirt of mine and lay it upon my father's face." In light of this verse, a shirt also signifies glad tidings. It has been said: A shirt seen in a dream is a sign of a person's state in religion and in worldly life.
Seeing oneself wear a sleeveless shirt signifies the beauty of the dreamer's religion even though he is poor.
Seeing the collar of one's shirt torn is a sign of poverty. By contrast, seeing oneself own many shirts signifies attaining great reward and recompense in the hereafter.
