Religious scholars
Classical interpretations
Seeing one of the scholars of Islam or being present in their gathering signifies righteousness in religion, strength of faith, and goodness.
Because the scholars are described as the heirs of the prophets, seeing scholars in a dream signifies following the Sunnah of the prophets.
Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing scholars is interpreted in four ways: elevation in rank, an honorable position, acceptance and favor in the sight of Allah, and sainthood or authority. Kissing a scholar's hand signifies benefiting from knowledge and being among the truthful.
