Seeing the felt placed beneath a saddle signifies the removal of sorrow, grief, hardship, and difficulty. Owning a saddle cloth signifies property and benefit, and may also signify a servant, wealth, benefit, or a woman. Removing the saddle from one's mount signifies separation between spouses. A saddle on a horse signifies honor, prestige, and greatness.

Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz says a saddle signifies a chaste, beautiful, wealthy wife, and riding on one signifies benefit and gain. Al-Nabulsi says riding a saddle signifies victory and success in one's affairs.
