Spindle

For a pregnant woman, seeing a spindle signifies that the child to be born will be a girl. Jabir al-Maghribi said that finding a spindle or being given one signifies acquiring a servant. A spindle may also signify a messenger and travel, wealth and its dues, or a riding animal that serves one's needs. A woman who encounters a spindle may give birth to a daughter or gain a sister. A woman who sees herself spinning thread with a spindle will seek help from a stranger.
