Classical interpretations

Seeing the Noble Mushaf is interpreted as knowledge and wisdom that a person will attain.

Seeing oneself read the Noble Mushaf in the blessed presence of the Glorious Prophet signifies knowledge, wisdom, memorization of the Qur'an, and high ranks. Buying a mushaf signifies wealth, livelihood, abundance, knowledge, and understanding.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing the Noble Mushaf is interpreted in seven ways: knowledge; wisdom; inheritance; a trust; lawful livelihood; judgment or authority; and strength.

Seeing a scholar write a mushaf signifies profit in trade and an increase in knowledge.

Seeing a ruler lick the Noble Mushaf with his tongue, or seeing another person do so, signifies the ruler's death.

Seeing a judge lick the mushaf signifies bribery.

Seeing an ordinary person eat the leaves and lines of the Mushaf signifies making a living by reciting the Qur'an.

The Mushaf may also signify a vineyard, garden, husband and wife, father, teacher, and other persons who are obeyed, such as an educator.

Seeing the Mushaf signifies a truthful oath. Stealing a mushaf from somewhere and hiding it signifies stealing from one's prayer—that is, performing prayer without observing its essential elements and proper manners.

Seeing a mushaf in one's lap and then a chick coming and completely removing the writing from it signifies that the dreamer will have a child who recites the Qur'an.

The dream of the Mushaf is also interpreted as inheritance, a trust, lawful livelihood, power and strength, dignity, and honor. Hanging the Mushaf around one's neck signifies becoming a hafiz and memorizing the Qur'an.

Qur’an section (juz)

Seeing oneself holding a section of the Qur'an and reciting from it signifies peace of heart, performing good and righteous deeds, and the light of faith in the heart.
