Seeing oneself marry signifies help and blessing from Almighty God. Marriage before witnesses signifies a pledge to perform righteous deeds for God; a public marriage conducted according to custom signifies rank and fame. Marrying a known woman signifies working toward the means of supporting her. Marrying a dead woman and entering upon her signifies recovering a matter once lost and despaired of. Marrying the daughter of an unknown old man signifies much good. Marrying four women is interpreted as visiting the Prophet's grave. A pregnant woman dreaming of marriage is interpreted as giving birth to a girl; a woman with a son dreaming of marriage signifies seeing her son's marriage. For a woman without a husband, or for a married woman, marriage in a dream is treated as good. Marrying a ruler's daughter is interpreted as drinking intoxicants. If a man with one or more wives marries another known woman, good, wealth, and status come in proportion to her beauty. Marrying a woman who then dies signifies working at a craft with hardship and sorrow. Marrying a Jewish woman signifies unlawful acts and sin. Marrying a woman forbidden to him by religion signifies becoming head of the family. A woman marrying an unknown old man signifies goodness and blessing and, if she is ill, recovery. Marrying a deceased woman who was forbidden to him signifies visiting relatives.

Marrying a woman one does not know or recognize signifies obeying God's commands, avoiding sins and errors, and receiving blessing.

Seeing a marriage official signifies marriage for an unmarried person. Sometimes seeing a marriage official signifies joy, relief, happiness, and felicity.
