Eye

The eye is primarily associated with religion, guidance, insight, and a person's spiritual condition. The source gives many conditional readings: blindness may signify loss, estrangement, or deviation, while beautiful or keen-sighted eyes signify guidance, knowledge, insight, recovery, and relief. Eye color is also interpreted symbolically. A heart containing an eye signifies observance of religion and wisdom arising from the heart.

Eating another person's eye signifies consuming that person's property.

Ja'far al-Sadiq and other authorities connect the eye with faith, children, wealth, insight, and guidance. Extreme enlargement of the eye signifies divine favor, while destruction of the eyes signifies severe punishment or ruin.
