Charity (Sadaqah)

For a sick man to see himself give charity signifies recovery from illness; for a scholar to give charity signifies an increase in knowledge; for a ruler or minister to give charity signifies an increase in fame and renown. For a merchant to see himself give charity signifies an increase in profit and earnings and people benefiting from him. Jabir al-Maghribi said: If the person giving charity is sick, he finds health; if in grief and sorrow, he is delivered from them; if in prison, he is released. If he is corrupt and sinful, Allah Most High grants him repentance.

Ibn Kathir said that giving charity in a dream bursts the envy of the envious and crushes the enemy. Just as charity overcomes Satan, the dream of giving charity signifies goodness, blessing, and an increase in wealth. It has been said: give charity so that your life may be lengthened. At times, giving charity in a dream signifies glorification and declaring God's oneness, visiting graves, and righteous deeds.
