Seeing a minbar signifies greatness, the Muslim community, and the lofty station mentioned by God Most High in His Book. Sleeping on a minbar signifies entering the protection of the ruler and becoming safe from fears.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing a minbar is interpreted in five ways: ruler, judge, imam, preacher, and high rank. Climbing a minbar and speaking there about goodness, charity, and truth signifies attaining blessing and prosperity and a good reputation. Sometimes a minbar signifies governorship, overpowering enemies, strength, and power.

Seeing the head of state on a minbar signifies continuation of his rule and authority and victory over his enemies. Addressing people from a minbar with one's hands behind one's back signifies being executed or being a sinful person.
