Reed

Seeing many reeds beside oneself signifies obtaining something with little effort.

Seeing a reed in one's hand and leaning on it signifies that only a short part of one's life remains.

Seeing arbors made from Persian reed, grapevine, or other materials signifies deliverance from sorrow and grief and abundant provision. Sometimes this dream signifies secrets becoming known, showing favor to servants, false speech, and performing deeds for show.

Seeing sugar cane signifies provision earned through toil and hardship, and sometimes quarrels in the street or wherever the cane is seen. At times it signifies pure and honorable lineage, the knowledge of Divine Unity that is the root and foundation of every good, fulfilling the obligations of fasting and prayer, or the servants of the head of state.

Seeing the reed become branches and twigs of gold, silver, or emerald signifies lawful wealth that one will obtain in this world, a pure wife, entering Paradise together with one's children, settling in the palaces of Paradise, and righteous deeds that merit sitting beneath their domes. If a sick person or prisoner sees a reed stripped of its outer skin, it signifies deliverance and recovery. Chewing sugar cane signifies an affair about which much must be said, though the speech concerning it will be pleasant and sweet. Al-Nabulsi said: If a person sees himself pressing sugar cane or another thing that can be pressed, and comes into possession of what is pressed without fire touching it, he will attain low prices and abundance. In interpreting such a dream, only the substance pressed and the liquid produced are to be considered. Sometimes seeing sugar cane signifies provision obtained from a miserly person. Reeds are also interpreted as follows: the joints of a reed signify days, months, or years. Sometimes a reed signifies the return of something that had slipped from one's hand while awake.
