Seeing the door of the Kaaba signifies good tidings, going on pilgrimage, and deliverance from sorrow and grief. A door seen in a dream signifies the person who manages the affairs of that house. Therefore, seeing some defect or deficiency arise in the house door signifies the good or bad condition of the householder: the goodness of the door signifies his goodness, and its bad condition signifies his bad condition.

Seeing an open door signifies provision. The doors of houses also signify women. Locked doors signify unmarried girls, while open doors signify widowed women.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing a door is interpreted in three ways: (a) the householder, (b) a second wife, and (c) a servant. Closing one door and opening another signifies taking a new wife. If an unmarried man sees himself make a threshold for his door, it signifies marriage.

Seeing the door of one's house fallen to the ground signifies recovery from illness, good tidings, and safety.

Seeing the house door shut signifies a great calamity for the people of that house.

Seeing a smaller door within the middle of the door is not a good sign. Passing from a narrow door into a spacious place signifies deliverance from straitened livelihood and freedom from sorrow and grief.

Entering through an unknown door signifies victory over an enemy. Sometimes unknown doors signify knowledge, provision and earnings, travel, and the opening of doors of good and evil for the dreamer. If, after passing through a door, one encounters spaciousness, greenery, pleasant fragrances, and beautiful flowers, it signifies a good state in the Hereafter. Encountering darkness, filth, animal carcasses, and fire signifies that one's state in the Hereafter will not be good and that one will suffer punishment.

Seeing a door open signifies ease in affairs; seeing it shut in one's face signifies hardship and constrained livelihood.

Seeing a door open toward the sky signifies acceptance of prayers and avoidance of sins. Sometimes seeing many doors open toward the sky signifies prolonged punishment and hardship. If there is drought and no rain at that time, the dream signifies rainfall and the revival and greening of lands afflicted by drought.

Seeing the door of one's house new, or seeing a craftsman repair it, signifies glad tidings of health and well-being. Kirmani said that although all the doors of a house have the same basic meaning in interpretation, the street door carries greater significance. Making or locking a new door signifies seeking a woman's hand in marriage and marrying her.

Seeing the ring of a door signifies a messenger or bearer of news.

Seeing two rings on one's door signifies becoming indebted to two people.

Seeing the door ring broken signifies being among the people of innovation.

Seeing the door burn signifies the death of the wife for a married person. The gates of cities and fortresses signify the ruler of that land.
