Darkness

Coming out of darkness into light signifies repentance from sin. For a prisoner, emerging from darkness into light signifies release from prison; for an unbeliever, it signifies becoming Muslim.

Seeing pitch darkness signifies error and bewilderment. Darkness also signifies oppression and injustice. Sometimes seeing darkness signifies the darkening of the eye and heart and concealing something one wishes to hide from people. If a debtor sees himself emerge from darkness into light, it signifies release from debt and the departure of sorrow and grief.
