Sinking into the ground

Seeing oneself sink into the earth signifies fear and severity that will come from the ruler. It is also interpreted as punishment. At times, sinking into the earth signifies a very distant journey. For people of spiritual love and ecstasy, it also signifies the manifestation of unveiling and saintly wonders. Al-Nabulsi said that seeing part of the earth split and then sink signifies a severe illness that will strike the people of that place, or calamities such as locusts, hail, famine, high prices, and similar afflictions.
