Pigeon / dove

A pigeon or dove signifies a wife or servant. Receiving one as a gift signifies wealth and provision from afar, and one flying to the dreamer signifies distant news. Kirmani likewise links the bird with wife or servant; its meat signifies wealth and its chicks unmarried girls. Catching one may signify the birth of a daughter. Playing with pigeons signifies vain affairs, scattering grain to catch them signifies corrupting people according to Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz, and cutting a pigeon's wing signifies restricting one's wife from leaving the home.
