Seeing the imam who leads prayer in a mosque signifies leaders and administrators of the people, such as a governor, chief, director, or district governor.

Seeing oneself lead a congregation in prayer signifies dignity, honor, goodness, and esteem. Becoming an imam signifies wealth for the poor, an increase of wealth for the rich, and honor and dignity for one who is lowly. Imamate may also signify becoming master or leader of a people, since imam means leader.

Seeing a child become imam signifies that the child will later attain a great position and very high honor. A woman seeing herself become imam and lead a congregation in prayer signifies her death, according to the source.

Seeing oneself lead a people in prayer signifies, if qualified, appointment as a governor and conducting affairs with justice. Praying toward a direction other than the qibla signifies innovation in religion and betrayal of companions. Nabulsi said that if a person sees himself lying on his side or face down, wearing white clothes, leading people in prayer without knowing the place, and neither reciting nor pronouncing the opening takbir, he will die and the people will perform his funeral prayer. If both he and the congregation are seated while he leads them, they will all be afflicted by hardship such as drowning, theft of clothing, or poverty.
