Dates

Seeing dates signifies pure and blessed provision.

Eating dates signifies provision reserved entirely for oneself, without another person's share in it. At times, eating dates signifies reciting the Qur'an and matters beneficial to one's religion.

Seeing dates scattered about signifies money that will not last. Being presented with dates signifies wealth that will come from people of rank and office. Gathering dates from a date palm in their season signifies a cheerful, wealthy, honorable woman of much goodness and blessing; at times it also signifies attaining knowledge. Al-Nabulsi said that one who sees dates fall upon him from a dry date palm will learn knowledge from a hypocritical man. If the person upon whom the dates fall is distressed or sorrowful, he will be relieved of that distress, in accordance with the story of Mary: 'Shake the trunk of the date palm toward you; it will drop ripe dates upon you' (Qur'an 19:25).

Eating fine, ripe dates signifies hearing good words and attaining great benefit. Splitting a date and removing its pit signifies a child, and the dreamer will have a child. Dates seen by measure or in a measuring vessel also signify spoils and benefit.
