Imam al-Nabulsi said: Performing a full ritual bath in a dream because of major impurity or for the Friday prayer is a sign of being cleansed of sins and of doing the good one owes to one's parents or friends. If one performs the bath on a winter day with cold water, this dream sometimes signifies sorrow, grief, distress, and illness. If a person sees himself bathe with hot water on a winter day, it signifies profit, trade, recovery from illness, and some benefit. If an unmarried man sees himself bathe for the festival prayer, it is interpreted as marriage.
Seeing oneself bathe in order to wash a dead person is a sign of parting from heedless and ignorant people. If an unbeliever sees himself perform the full ritual bath, it signifies that he will become Muslim. A sick person performing the full ritual bath is a sign of recovery. If a person sees himself bathe in order to enter Mecca or the state of ihram, this dream is interpreted as follows: a) relief, b) joy and peace, c) being reunited with those who were lost, d) paying off debts... The interpretation of bathing in order to stone the devil and to circumambulate the Kaaba is the same. Sometimes bathing in order to stone the devil signifies overcoming an enemy.
Ibn Sirin said: Seeing oneself bathe in the sea or a river signifies fearing Allah Most High, being devout, and deliverance from grief and sorrow.
Seeing oneself bathe with clean and pure water signifies release from sorrow, grief, and distress.
Seeing oneself wash another person means vouching for that person's character.
Seeing someone wash oneself signifies that person's good testimony about oneself. Jabir al-Maghribi said: Performing the full ritual bath in a dream is interpreted as follows: a) cleanliness in religion, b) scrupulousness and piety, c) honor and esteem, d) a good reputation... If a person sees himself bathe in order to circumambulate the Kaaba, it is a sign of working to secure his livelihood, serving one of the great men of the state, or visiting his parents. If a sick person sees himself bathe and put on new clothes, it signifies that Allah will grant him healing. If he is in debt, he will be freed from his debt. If he is in prison, he will be released from the dungeon and find safety. If a poor person sees himself bathe and put on new clothes, it signifies wealth. Allah Most High will send him blessings from where he does not expect. If a person dismissed from office sees himself bathe and put on new clothes, it is a sign that he will be taken back into office. If someone who has lost all his wealth and property sees such a dream, it signifies that Allah Most High will graciously restore his property and wealth.
Seeing oneself bathe and complete the bath is a sign that all one's affairs will be completed.
Seeing oneself unable to complete the bath is a sign that one's wishes and desires will not be fulfilled.
Seeing oneself wash clothes signifies sincerity and righteousness in religion. For cleanliness is part of faith.
Seeing oneself wash a dead person is a sign of paying that dead person's debt. If one sees a dead person washing himself, it signifies that the dead person's children and grandchildren will be freed from sorrow and grief and will attain good, blessing, wealth, and offspring.
Seeing oneself wash a dead person is also a sign of guiding someone whose religion is deficient.
Ibn Kathir said: Seeing an unknown woman perform the full ritual bath signifies rain; washing one's hands with clay signifies the end of enmity with someone, salvation from fear, and obtaining what one expects from a person.
