As you know, thunder is a frightening and terrifying event. For this reason, hearing thunder without rain in a dream signifies hardship and fear. Sometimes thunder signifies a fine promise and good works, good things, the sound of drums, and a military band. Jabir al-Maghribi said: A violent thunderclap in a dream. signifies the spread of the head of state's fame, awe, and power. If a person sees thunder together with rain, it signifies safety and security, abundance and blessing, and low prices.
Seeing violent thunder with light rain is a sign of losing the approval of one's parents. Al-Nabulsi said: If one hears thunder together with rain at a time when the people need it, and the sound of the lightning is not frightening, it signifies that the people of that place will enjoy low prices and abundance. For example, seeing thunder in May, June, July, or another month carries a meaning according to its month and season and is interpreted accordingly. If the thunder heard in a dream falls on the first day of February, it signifies low prices and abundance on earth, cheapness in the market, and the outbreak of epidemics in some lands.
