Seeing a jurist signifies intellect, intelligence, knowledge, and learning. It may also signify recovery from illness and health. For a sinful person, seeing a scholar signifies repentance and turning to Almighty God; for an ignorant person it signifies guidance. A Shafi'i adherent seeing himself change to another school is interpreted as taking the easier concession in religion, borrowing something, or growing weary of fulfilling a pledge or promise.
