If a person sees himself blow a whistle in a dream, it signifies good and joyful news.
Hearing the sound of a whistle, however, is news of a death. It has been said: If a person sees in his hand one of the instruments of entertainment such as a reed flute, a shepherd's pipe, or a shawm, and sees himself put his fingers on its stops, that person will learn the Noble Qur'an and understand what he recites. Again, if he sees one of the said instruments given to him by the sultan, he will attain public office and be delivered from strife. He will choose the path of piety and live a secluded life away from the people.
