Seeing a doctor signifies a learned and virtuous person, while a doctor giving the dreamer medicine signifies bodily health. Al-Nabulsi says the doctor may signify one's mother: the death of one's doctor signifies the mother's death; a doctor visiting a sick person signifies recovery, while a doctor visiting a healthy person signifies illness for that person. The doctor may also signify an effective preacher, a judge or mufti who sets religious and worldly affairs right, an educator, teacher, tanner, or a bloodletter because bloodletting was regarded as a treatment.
