Seeing a roof signifies marriage to a noble woman and may also signify a man of high standing. Running quickly on a roof signifies a coming affliction. Descending onto roofs in summer signifies relief, comfort, the end of grief and illness, and the disclosure of secrets. Working on a roof may signify the unexpected arrival of a friend; moving roof tiles may point to envious people. Jabir al-Maghribi says climbing onto a roof signifies a position of honor, while grass growing on the roof signifies the opposite.
