Returning from a journey signifies fulfilling what is obligatory upon the dreamer. At times it signifies deliverance from sorrow and severity and from harmful things, attaining blessing, repentance from sin, and entering a good and beautiful state. Repentance, as the source notes, means turning back from sin; thus returning from a journey is interpreted like returning from sin.
Seeing another person return from a journey signifies relief after hardship, health after illness, and a person's return to a former condition. If the traveler's arrival brings joy and delight, goodness and benefit increase many times over. If it brings sorrow and grief, it signifies falling into something feared.
