Al-Nabulsi said that leeches seen in a dream are like worms that consume a person's body, and worms represent one's children and household.
Seeing a leech also signifies a low and contemptible enemy. Kirmani said that the leech represents a deceitful enemy who lives on another person's wealth rather than his own.
Seeing many leeches gather on oneself and suck one's blood signifies loss of wealth. Pulling off and throwing away a leech attached to one's body signifies release from grief and sorrow.
