Seeing water in a dream signifies good provision and a pleasant, sweet life, because every living thing was created from water.
Seeing very clean and clear water and drinking from it signifies abundant provision, low prices, and justice spreading over the earth. Jumping into pure, clear water and swimming in it signifies joy that will arrive very soon.
Drinking clean water from a cup signifies a child and goodness that will come through one's wife. Sweet, clear water is interpreted in five ways: lawful provision, purity of heart, knowledge, wisdom, and good works. If an unmarried man drinks water from a bowl or glass, it signifies that he will soon marry. Performing a full ritual bath with cold water signifies repentance from sins, recovery from illness, release from debt, safety from fear and hardship, and well-being.
Drinking hot water signifies severe sorrow and grief.
Seeing clean, pure water in one's own house signifies happiness, accumulated wealth and booty, and abundant good. If the person is unmarried, it signifies marriage, in accordance with the verse, 'It is He who created a human being from water and made for him ties of blood and marriage. Your Lord is ever Powerful' (al-Furqan 54). Possessing pure, clear water signifies doing much good. Water also signifies a wife for an unmarried man and a husband for an unmarried woman.
Ibn Sirin said that water may signify corruption in religion, in light of the verse, 'If they had remained straight on the path, We would surely have given them abundant water to drink' (al-Jinn 16), and trial, in light of the verse, 'Indeed, Allah will test you with a river' (al-Baqarah 249). Clean, pure, shining waters signify provision, good, glad tidings, and benefit; muddy waters signify difficulty, hardship, and toil; yellow waters signify illness. Salty water signifies hardship in livelihood, muddy and foul-smelling water signifies unlawful wealth, and black water signifies the ruin of the dreamer's house. Drawing black water from a well signifies marriage to a woman of no good. Walking on the water of the sea or a river signifies piety and wisdom.
