Seeing oneself count numbers signifies victory over an enemy. Kirmani said that counting numbers is interpreted according to the number counted: one signifies divine unity and faith; two, one's mother and father; three, a person who is true to his promise; four, an accepted supplication; and five signifies good fortune, a favorable state, and the five daily prayers. Some have also said that in a dream the number one is auspicious, two signifies deliverance from affliction, three is not good, four is blessed and good, five is beautiful and likewise good, and six signifies seeking something beneficial. Counting pearls one by one signifies reciting the surahs of the Noble Qur'an. Counting precious stones signifies remembering again and regaining knowledge one had forgotten. Counting beads signifies being occupied with vain matters. Counting gold coins bearing the blessed names of Allah Most High signifies knowledge and wisdom. If a farmer sees himself counting male camels together with their loads, it signifies rain that will fall on his cultivated fields. Counting buffalo signifies hardship and difficulty in earning a livelihood.
