Seeing a banner or standard signifies honor, dignity, office, and rank. It also signifies a scholar, imam, ascetic, intelligent and courageous person, or a wealthy, generous, and famous person.
Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing a banner is interpreted in four ways: honor; travel; high office; and a good state.
