Seeing a sable signifies a man who keeps away from people, with whom others do not associate, who accumulates much wealth, and whose goodness benefits no one. Since the sable can only be obtained after it dies, benefit from such a person likewise comes only after death.
Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz said that seeing a sable signifies an oppressive, thieving, unbelieving person from whom benefit is obtained only after death. Kirmani said that seeing a sable signifies a wealthy and strange person who does not associate with people. The sable's skin, fur, and meat signify wealth.
