Seeing a finger signifies one’s wife, children, mother, father, wealth, animals, property, and craft, because one’s spouse, children, and parents are among the closest people to a person, while fingers are among the parts of the body most needed.
Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing a finger is interpreted in six ways: a) children, b) siblings, c) servants, d) friends and companions, e) strength, and f) the five daily prayers.
Ibn Sirin said that if a person sees the fingers of his right hand longer than those of his left, it signifies good deeds and doing goodness; seeing the fingers short while the upper arm is long signifies generosity, courage, and strength.

A woman who sees herself put henna on her hand but the henna does not take is not loved by her husband. Jabir al-Maghribi said that seeing one’s thumb cut off signifies going on a journey.
Seeing the index finger cut off signifies intention toward prayer.
Seeing the middle finger cut off signifies the death of the head of state.
Seeing the ring finger cut off signifies loss of one’s property.
Seeing the little finger cut off signifies the death of a grandchild.
Seeing oneself interlock one’s fingers signifies falling into poverty, need, distress, and difficulty.
Seeing oneself join one’s fingers together signifies righteousness and performing the prayers; according to one opinion, it also signifies the gathering together of one’s siblings’ children.
