Praying toward the qibla signifies following the Sacred Law and the Sunnah. Performing the noon prayer signifies favorable circumstances, fulfillment of one's aim, and increase in livelihood and wealth. Performing the afternoon prayer signifies reaching ease after hardship and toil and attaining one's aim. Performing the sunset prayer signifies attaining whatever one desires, whether good or bad. The night prayer signifies living pleasantly and harmoniously with relatives, relief, and joy. Performing the dawn prayer signifies lawful wealth, abundant livelihood, and fulfillment of wishes and aims.

Praying throughout the entire night signifies happiness in this world and the Hereafter and attaining great goodness and beauty in both. Praying in al-Masjid al-Haram, the Prophet's Mosque, or al-Masjid al-Aqsa signifies very great reward, acceptance of prayer, forgiveness of sins, knowledge, and wisdom.

Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing oneself pray is interpreted in seven ways: safety and security; joy and relief; honor; rank; deliverance from distress; fulfillment of one's aim; and victory. Performing the funeral prayer signifies acceptance of one's supplication and of one's intercession. Completing the prayer and giving the salam signifies following the practice and Sunnah of the Prophet of Prophets and lawful livelihood.

Seeing oneself dressed in white, praying in a direction other than the qibla, and reciting the Qur'an properly signifies going on Hajj. Performing the Eid al-Fitr prayer signifies repayment of debt for the debtor, recovery for the sick, relief after distress, wealth after poverty, and joy after sorrow and grief. Performing the Eid al-Adha prayer signifies appointment to office, preserving and carrying out what is right, and fulfilling a vow. Looking right and left while praying signifies attachment to worldly wealth and adornment and turning away from the blessings of the Hereafter. Praying toward the qibla of Jews or Christians signifies corruption of belief and religion and innovation.
