Wearing wooden clogs signifies a journey by land.
Ja'far al-Sadiq said that seeing or wearing clogs is interpreted in seven ways: a wife; a male servant; a female servant; strength; benefit; wealth; and travel. Sometimes wearing clogs and walking in them signifies blessing and joy. It is also said that removing one's clogs signifies safety, security, and attainment of a high position. Walking in fur-lined clogs signifies travel for worship and obedience to God, such as Hajj or jihad.
Seeing cotton on the clogs signifies a literate, religious, and righteous wife.
