Al-Nabulsi said that a May beetle signifies an angry person who restricts the maintenance of his household.
Seeing a male May beetle signifies an evil servant, while the female signifies the death of a woman in childbirth.
Seeing a May beetle is also interpreted as an ill-natured and stubborn woman; encountering one therefore signifies encountering a stubborn woman. Sometimes it signifies an enemy who possesses unlawful property.
