Seeing tar signifies a man who prevents corrupt people from causing corruption and evil and shows the way of goodness. Smearing oneself with tar or wearing clothing made of tar signifies committing sins and improper deeds, in reference to the Qur'anic verse about the people of Hell, 'Their garments are of tar' (Ibrahim 14:50). Sometimes seeing tar signifies unlawful wealth and a bad end.
