Seeing oneself perform bloodletting or have blood drawn is interpreted as governorship for one who is qualified. If a prisoner sees himself have blood drawn, it signifies release from prison and safety.
Ja'far al-Sadiq (may God be pleased with him) said that bloodletting or having blood drawn is interpreted in four ways: (a) conquest, (b) victory, (c) travel, and (d) enmity and litigation.
Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz said: If a person sees himself having blood drawn and the bloodletter is old, he will hear from a friend words he does not want and does not approve of. If the bloodletter is young, it signifies hearing such words from an enemy.
Seeing blood drawn from the right hand signifies a good livelihood and a manyfold increase in wealth. If blood is drawn from the left hand, the person will prevail over a partner or friend, and the wealth of that partner or friend will increase manyfold. If a large amount of blood is drawn from a vein in the head, it signifies benefiting from another person.
Drinking blood signifies unlawful wealth or backbiting. Having blood drawn from a person one fears signifies becoming safe from that person's evil. If someone whose profession is bloodletting sees himself drawing blood, it signifies comfort and the recovery of people in that place who need bloodletting.
Seeing oneself cut one's own vein lengthwise signifies hearing from an enemy words that disparage the dreamer, and those words will affect him; it also signifies an increase in wealth. If an unmarried girl sees blood drawn from her, it signifies marriage. For a young boy, bloodletting signifies circumcision. For a prisoner, having blood drawn signifies release.
Seeing one's blood drawn by an unknown woman signifies good fortune opening up to the dreamer. Cutting open a vein and seeing blood emerge signifies repentance from sin. If the blood emerging from the vein is black, the person will persist in sins and wrongdoing and then repent again.
