Seeing a cage signifies difficulties, sorrow, and grief, and sometimes a cradle for small children. A cage is also interpreted as a house. Thus, seeing oneself buy a chicken and a cage signifies acquiring a servant.
Abu Sa'id al-Wa'iz said that a large cage in which chickens or birds are kept signifies a house. Whoever sees himself buy such a cage will buy a dwelling.
Seeing oneself put one's head into a cage and walk through the streets signifies selling one's house.
Seeing an empty cage signifies joy and relief.
